Hokkaido Dreams – Bead Embroidery Zoom Class

Inspired by the quiet poetry of northern Japan, this bead embroidery pendant captures the moment when spring finally reaches Hokkaido — the last place in the country where  cherry blossoms bloom.
At the center, a detailed cabochon scene tells a small story: a flowering sakura branch, drifting petals, distant mountains and lanterns, all framed by richly layered beadwork. Soft icy blues evoke melting snow, while pearl whites and deep crimson beads represent blossoms opening against the cool northern air. The crystal drop finishes the piece like a falling petal carried by the wind.
The Japanese cherry blossom (桜 sakura) arrives at a slightly different time every year because it depends on the weather — but across most of Japan it blooms roughly from late March to early April. The blooming front moves from south to north, which is why in Hokkaido the blossoms appear later than anywhere else.

Kits are mandatory and will be purchased from Anna closer to  the date of the class.  Kits are $115 and are being shipped from Hungary.

Class is limited to a maximum of 20 students and minimum of 8 students. You can choose to Zoom from home or hang with others at the shop - we will be using the 51" big screen TV that I have in the shop
